Wizkid, Maleek Berry, Tiwa Savage nominated for MOBO Awards 

Starboy Wizkid has been nominated alongside global superstars, Jay-Z, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B and Travis Scott in the Best International Act category for this year’s MOBO Awards.

The category also has Solange Knowles, SZA and Migos as contenders.



Meanwhile, the Best African Act category was dominated by some of Nigeria’s biggest names including Davido, Maleek Berry, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and of course, Wizkid.

Eugy, Juls and Sarkodie are the other Africans on that list.

Top London grime artiste, Stormzy leads the nominations pack with five nods including Best Album, Best Male and Best Grime Act.

The 2017 MOBO Awards will hold in Leeds, United Kingdom on 29 November.





You won’t believe the movie Beyoncé rejected a role in

It’s Beauty and the Beast.

Director of the live-action adaptation of the 1991 fantasy film, Bill Cordon recently revealed that he tried but failed to get Beyoncé to be a part of the movie.

Cordon said, “I tried to get her into Beauty and the Beast, but it wasn’t a big enough part. She would have been a good feather duster.”

Actress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw was later cast for the role.



Blac Chyna sues the entire Kardashian family

Because nothing stops anyone from dragging a “powerful”, “vindictive” family to court if need be.

Chyna is accusing her former in-laws of squashing her reality show, Rob and Chyna. She claims the Kardashians interfered with the production of the show hence causing E! Network to pull the plug.

The network has denied Chyna’s claims with documented evidence that says it was practically impossible to film as Chyna would not sit in the same room as Rob.

According to TMZ, she’s also alleging battery against Rob who she says “grabbed her phone, knocked her to the ground … and she ended up calling her son King’s nanny for help. She claims Rob flipped out and tore her bedroom door off at the hinges.”

“Attention” is the first single off of Charlie Puth’s forthcoming second studio album. After the massive success of his Wiz Khalifa-assisted hit “See You Again” and tracks like “One Call Away” and “We Don’t Talk Anymore” featuring Selena Gomez, Puth is readying a new sound for his next project. “Attention,” which he produced himself and co-wrote with Jacob Kasher, is about a spiteful ex-girlfriend.

“When I came up with the song originally, I was on this hotel bed in this really cool room in the Philippines,” he tells Genius. “I think back about the time when I was in that hotel room and she was literally crying to me about how mistreated she was by her ex—had me thinking that I could be the guy who could fix her. Maleek Berry Breaks Down “Been Calling” on Genius’ Video Series ‘Verified’

“I always try and write the music in a way that anybody could relate to it.”

South London R&B singer Maleek Berry has been producing hits for Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Davido for years, but many fans got their first introduction to him in 2016 with the release of his debut solo EP Last Daze of Summer and its breakout single “Kontrol.” In June 2017, he dropped the self-produced single “Been Calling,” which has since earned over two million Spotify streams. The track came about as part of Berry’s effort to open up more in his music.

“Whenever I write songs, I always want to just dig deep and try and write about something I’ve been through before,” he explains to Genius. “And this was just one of those instances. Naturally, I’m a recluse. I don’t like talking too much. So I’m just getting to that stage now, where I’m trying to put everything that’s in my mind into my music and hey, that’s how "Been Calling” came about.
